CM LAUNCHES ONLINE PORTAL FOR ILPS

Imphal, February 13, 2020 (DIPR): With an objective to improve the efficiency and maintenance of records with proper database of the number of non-indigenous person entering in Manipur, Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh launched Inner Line Permit (ILP) portal www.manipurilponline.com at a solemn function held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat today.

Speaking at the function, Chief Minister said that after the implementation of ILP system in the State, the government decided to launch the web portal for issuing of ILP where the records of the applicants can be maintained including the details of the permits issued. The new system would overcome the problems and difficulties faced by the concerned authorities and officials while issuing permits manually at various entry points or gates, he added.

The Chief Minister mentioned that for the initial period, the online portal will be made available at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport with 6 systems. By 1st March, 2020 it will be expanded throughout the State, he added. Now, applicants can apply the ILP online by making necessary payment online and pre-print their permits before reaching the State.

Informing about the permits issued till 31st January 2020, Chief Minister said that a total of 33,995 permits were issued under different categories such as temporary, regular, special and labour permits and raised revenue of around Rs. 1 crore.

Replying to the queries, Chief Minister informed that facilitation centres would also be opened at all the Manipur Bhawans located in different States of the country. He further said that the government is actively considering to give some relaxation of the Manipur Diasporas for entering into the State under ILPS.

It may be mentioned that the ILP system came to effect in the state from 1st January 2020 and seven entry points viz. Airport, Mao, Jiribam, Jessami, Moreh, Behiang and Sinjowl were identified for issuing of the permits. A mobile application will also be made available shortly to enable applications through mobile phones. The web portal is developed under the IT Department, Government of Manipur.

On the occasion, Chief Minister also launched www.manipurtaxes.gov.in under Department of Taxes, Government of Manipur. People can get latest information on taxes like GST, VAT for petroleum products and alcohol and Professional Tax. Taxpayers can also provide feedback and contact through a toll-free number or email. Such initiative of the government would improve the ease of doing business in the State.
