CM LAUNCHES NEW SCHEMES, AND DISTRIBUTES BENEFITS UNDER VARIOUS SCHEMES
Imphal, 11thJuly, 2024 (DIPR): Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh today distributed benefits under various Government Schemes and also launched new schemes at a solemn function held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal.
The newly launched schemes were Product Catalogue, ‘Special Package to Successful Start-ups for Employment of IDPs in Manipur, CM Yarn Scheme (including Muga Silk buyback), Revised Comic Text Book, Sportspersons Livelihood Guarantee Scheme.
The Chief Minister along with the Cabinet Ministers distributed benefits under 46 schemes to more than 4 lakhs beneficiaries amounting to more than Rs 300 crore. The benefits will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer directly to the account of the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized on the various welfare initiatives taken up by the State government towards bringing inclusive development in the State. Various initiatives like Go to Hills, Go to Village, Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang, Start-up Manipur, Widows pension scheme and others have been taken up to bring equal development and collective welfare in the State, he added.
He continued that the ongoing unprecedented conflict and the recently occurred series of natural calamities in the State have brought hindrances to the developmental activities in the State. He also stated that the Government would provide all necessary assistance for the welfare of the people. He further added that good quality CGI sheets have been distributed to the people affected by the recent hailstorm through the respective Deputy Commissioner.
Keeping in view of the present situation in the State, the Chief Minister reminded that the territorial integrity of the State shall remain intact.
The Chief Minister informed that medical teams have been formed to help the inmates of relief camps and added that a team comprised of doctors, nurses and multitasking staff. The said teams are visiting relief camps twice a week and at present, around 68 teams have been formed and visited about 238 camps for health check-up of the inmates, he continued. He further informed that mental health counseling facilities had also been provided to the inmates and till date around 1436 free medical check-ups have been conducted.
The benefits distributed today were under schemes including CMESS for Relief Camps inmates, Special Assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh per family for displaced families in relief camps, Financial Assistance for Education of Children, College Students Rehabilitation Scheme, One Time Special Assistance, Hailstorm Relief, Flood Relief, CM’s Yaipha Tengbang Scheme and Incentives to Artisans among others.
The distribution of benefits under different schemes was also undertaken at different Deputy Commissioner’s Office and Departments of the State Government.
The program was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Member of Parliament, MLAs, Chief Secretary, Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur, high ranking civil and police officials and beneficiaries of different welfare schemes among others.
